The sun perches in its highest throne for the day - midday - and shines with all its might on the pure blue ocean of the tropics. The usually murky skyline clears up with the presence of such intense light. The intense light also reveals a bright ship painted in all white as it makes its way across the water. The sheer astounding speed and velocity of the smaller ship as it approaches every closer is awe inspiring. Bigger ships are prone to be at the mercy of these small, extremely agile ships in terms of pure speed and maneuverability. Endurance is a problem with these smaller ships, though. Their speed is suited to short intense bursts rather than long, drawn out voyages. The ship was built this way from the start, however.
Yacht models are among the world’s fastest and most agile looking model ships. Models with great speed are find their peak in yacht models and their contemporaries. More than other models, yacht models are considered the most easily breakable boats. The skinny build of real life yachts is multiplied in today’s yacht models. The smaller the ratio of the model, the more likely it will be fragile. Modelers will remedy this aspect by keeping the amount of small parts sticking out from yacht models to a minimum. Due to this, many of the small parts seen on other models are not seen on yacht models themselves. Because of this fragility, many yacht models are kept out of reach of people, and are strictly for viewing purposes only.
The term ‘yacht’ was coined in the Netherlands to mean ‘small, fast boat’. At their inception, Dutch merchants were quick to use them to trade and travel very fast from one point to another. When developers first crafted this ship, the uniquely shallow, reef-ridden waters of the Netherlands was kept in the forefront of their minds. The hulls of these ships are often shallow and wide to make for greater turning ability as well as carrying capacity. As time passed, many larger versions of these ships were made. These ships were a favored vessel among European royalty. When an exiled prince of England returned to his homeland on one, their popularity literally exploded. From that moment forward, many citizens of means began to seek out these boats. It was a shame that much of the nobility bought them and never set sail in them at all.
Rooms that have these yacht models within them are given an air of true maritime enjoyment. No matter the other decorative themes present in a home, this ship makes a grand effort to fit in seamlessly. The fact that this model has very few distinctive colors helps it to blend in this aspect. The outer casing of this ship is most commonly painted a fresh, pure white. This color helps their real life counterpart to be seen on the ocean. If it fits the model, many colors can be chosen by the owner in the stead of the simple, plain white. Paints such as metallic golds and bronze, deep matte red, and dark indigo blue are among the most iconic colors.
